Leading trade tech organisation TradePhlo is seeking detail-oriented Junior Customs Associate to join its team on a need basis (Part time).

You will be responsible for ensuring the accurate completion of customs documentation and declarations for international shipments and facilitate the smooth movement of goods across borders by adhering to relevant customs regulations and requirements.

Requirements: Prior experience in dealing with Customs Clearance in UK or Compulsory Training: Successfully complete a one-hour Udemy course on customs declaration, as specified by the company. Apply the knowledge gained from the course to enhance your understanding of customs regulations and improve your performance in customs declaration activities.

Responsibilities:

  1. Customs Declarations: Accurately complete customs declarations using our leading software. Ensure compliance with customs regulations, tariff codes, and other relevant guidelines to avoid delays or penalties.

  2. Classification: Properly classify goods according HMRC codes and other relevant classification systems. Determine appropriate duty rates, taxes, and fees for imported or exported goods.

  3. Communication: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as shipping and logistics teams, to obtain necessary information for customs declarations. Liaise with customs officials, brokers, and other external parties to resolve any customs-related issues and facilitate the timely clearance of goods.

Qualifications:

  1. Good organisational and time management skills to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.

  2. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

  3. Ability to adapt to changing regulations and procedures and quickly learn new customs requirements.
